South coast
Praia da Mareta
Mareta is the main beach in Sagres. Above the beach there is enough parking space. At the beach there are two nice beach restaurants and beach chairs for rent. It is best to bring cash, card payment is not accepted here. This beach is very appreciated by families.
Praia do Martinhal
The beach, which is just under 800 meters long, is very quiet. Most guests come directly from the adjacent resort. The calm water is perfect for SUP or kayaking.
Praia do Zavial
A bit away are the beaches Zavial and Ingrina, but they are definitely worth a trip! At low tide and in the summer months the beach opens another bay. Ingrina is known for dolphins that can be seen mostly in the morning.
Praia da Ingrina
Ingrina is a very small beach, but it is very easy to reach. From the car it is only a few meters until you feel the sand under your feet. A beach snack bar offers snacks and drinks.
Hike from Praia Ingrina to Praia do Barranco and back
The short hike starts at Ingrina beach, which is much easier to reach by car (just 15 min) than the destination, Baranco beach. It leads through wonderfully fragrant maquis, full of herbs like rosemary and sage, flowers, shrubs and small trees, along the coast. All the time you can enjoy the view of the blue sea and the lush green of the maquis, especially in winter and spring. In between, it’s worth taking a look at the Praia do João Vaz Beach. For the way back, you can initially choose the dirt road a little inland. More information

West coast
The impressive stretch of coastline and beach begins in Sagres, at the southwesternmost point of Portugal, and takes the visitor all the way up to Aljezur.

Praia do Costelejo and Praia da Cordoama
A narrow, signposted road goes from Vila do Bispo towards the coast until you reach a crossroad. Here you choose the way to Praia do Castelejo on the left or Praia da Cordoama on the right. No matter which choice you make, at low tide both beaches join to form one endless sandy beach and beach walkers can enjoy kilometers of beach walks.
Praia do Amado
To Praia do Amado, before entering the village, an unremarkable road on the left leads up through hills towards the cliffs to the beach. This long flat sandy beach is very popular among surfers, as it is easy to reach and offers plenty of space.
Praia da Arrifana
Between Carrapateira and Aljezur there is the small village of Arrifana with its beautiful beach Praia do Arrifana. A small road with a few parking spaces winds its way down to the beach. From the top you already have a great view of the beach and the cliffs.
